Ruben Castenada
Ruben Castenada was a crack addict who often bought drugs in the same neighborhoods he was reporting from. He was the crime reporter for the Washington Post. He describes his anxiety when he was sent to neighborhoods where he might be recognized for buying. When confronted with the fact that he was fueling the very intense violence he was reportin on, he replied that as an addict, he wasn't thinking about that. He was only concerned with getting high.
